Hello Cayke Fans!
It has been so long since I’ve blogged!!! I’m so sorry for neglecting you but 2014 is a new year and I’m slowly getting back to the grind. I’ve gone back to hobby baking so not back to caking full time but it’s nice to be able to do something nice for friends and family! I have a few really cool cakes in the works for this weekend and will be posting them soon!
With a toddler in tow, it’s been a bit difficult to get into the full swing of things so a lot of my recent cakes have been pretty simple. Usually just buttercream based because it’s so much faster for me than working with fondant details. Kudos to all of the other bakers on island with kids, full time jobs and full time caking because let me tell you…it’s loads of work!! That being said, I truly do miss my caking weekends and the pride I feel after a new recipe tests well or a new design comes out even better than imagined! At the end of the day it’s all about prioritizing and balancing out all of the demands that comes with life…that’s what will truly make every day of life SWEET 😉
